"What is indie music, and what is punk music? Contemplating these genres might lead to frustration if you're trying to accurately describe music. But it can also lead to a deeper freedom of expression, in realizing these vague subcultural terms don't actually carry the stylistic confines some people associate with them.

Violet Club are a band from Charlottesville, a place that historically lacks much of a "sound". But there’s been a lot of good shit over the years and you know it when you see it. Violet Club play a discordant style of guitar pop that is equally pleasing and challenging. Their sound is not easy to grasp but it's also not meant to go over your head.
